Working out of The Alchemist in Ho Chi Minh City, David (Knife Life) brings tattoos with bite — heavy lines, unapologetic designs, and a style that leaves nothing soft. Every piece is a permanent mark, not a decoration.
BACKGROUND
David, a first-generation immigrant, he left Sweden’s design world in 2019 to fully embrace his passion for tattooing. Returning to Vietnam, he found inspiration in the vibrant culture of his roots, which profoundly shaped his art.
What started as tattooing friends in Sweden evolved into a deeper journey when he returned to Vietnam, where the culture and vibrancy of his roots inspired his craft in profound ways.
David’s work is a bold fusion of culture, creativity, and individuality - each piece designed to resonate deeply with his clients and tell their unique stories.

THE HANGOUT STUDIOS
David began his tattoo journey in 2019 at The Hangout Studio, driven by a passion for honing his craft and telling stories through art. A self-taught artist, he found inspiration in Vietnam’s vibrant tattoo scene, where tradition meets innovation. Holly joined him later as his apprentice and partner in crime, bringing her own creative energy and vision to the studio.
Together, they thrive in a dynamic community surrounded by talented artists, constantly pushing boundaries and finding inspiration in collaboration. Every tattoo they create merges their artistic perspectives with the unique stories of their clients, resulting in meaningful, one-of-a-kind pieces.
In 2022, David became co-owner of The Hangout Studio, further deepening their commitment to the artistic community and the craft they love.
FUTURE PLANS…
As of now, David are working with @nhatbe one of Vietnams masters in blackwork tattooing at @thealchemisttattoo located in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam.
